Thanks to Walmart Rage 2 was probably the worst kept secret of this years E3 conferences. Rage 2 was introduced by Andrew WK and his band in bombastic fashion as they blasted out the theme song to the game. Then we got to see an extended trailer that showed us what led this world to its dystopian setting. An asteroid hit earth and 80% of the worlds population was wiped out, this led to a violent and lawless wasteland forming. This wasteland is the setting for your adventure playing as Walker, the last Ranger of the wasteland. There was also … Read More »

You’ve been tracking the deer for a little over 40 minutes. You first spotted it at the drinking pool you’d found during a lengthy and somewhat aimless wander, as it calmly lapped at the water’s edge. You’d taken careful aim at that point and almost pulled the trigger – but a crack from beneath your boots in the undergrowth had spooked it at the last moment. You’d sworn under your breath and watched as it pranced off into the distance, bouncing in the air and kicking out its back legs elegantly behind it. Taking a moment, you’d weighed your options. … Read More »

Just Cause 3 has a day one patch that you’ll need to download and install whenever you first insert its shiny disc into your Xbox One. Those folks at Avalanche Studios and Square Enix have released a new CGI trailer for open-world blow ’em up Just Cause 3. Made by award-winning Japanese studio Visual Works, the trailer also features the musical melody “Fire” by Kasabian, all in aid of giving you an idea of the over-the-top action in the game that a Hollywood producer would go weak at the knees for. Does this trailer get you stoked? If so, there’s not long left to wait for Rico Rodriguez’s return on 1st December. The latest dev diary from Avalanche Studios focuses on the story in Just Cause 3, explaining the events prior to the game and the decisions the studio has taken. The video also takes a look at the characters and technology that brings them to life, including the performance capture. “Our missions are an excuse for you to try cool things,” comments Francesco Antolini, the principal designer at Avalanche. “…we’ve kept the same philosophy from the rest of the game which leaves the player free to experiment and reach their goals however they prefer.” And here’s the story trailer for Just Cause 3, for double that … Read More »

The Xbox Games Store has once again revealed the install size for an upcoming game, and Just Cause 3 weighs-in at 42.49GB. To put that into some sort of perspective – if hints of the game’s size can at all be gleamed from the amount of memory it takes up (which it can’t, really, because it depends in part on how the files are compressed ) – Batman: Arkham Knight is 40.06GB, Fallout 4 is 28.12GB, and GTA V is 49.03GB. Again, it’s worth pointing out that file size does not necessarily indicate an equivalent to game content. If you’d like something a bit more useful, here’s the latest Just Cause 3 … Read More »

How about you guys? You can set fire to the world on  December 1st. Leave a comment down below. … Read More »
