For those looking to take advantage of cross play compatibility between PC and and Xbox One for ARK: Survival Evolved will have to wait a little while longer.  While it was originally set for December, we will have till 2017.  Luckily it's going to be January 2017.  Developer Studio Wildcard lead developer Jeremy Stieglitz explained that it “requires reformatting ARK’s application handling to work with Universal Windows Platform."  So look to have Play Anywhere capability next month. Studio Wildcard co-founder Jesse Rapczack also confirmed once again Windows 10 owners will be able to set up their own dedicated servers to run ... Read More »

Three new creatures, the prey-grabbing Kaprosuchus, the boulder-tossing Chalicotherium, and the oxygen-giving Diplocaulus join the fray, while the ARK “Explorer Note” System finds its way into both the main Island and ARK: Scorched Earth. Survivors also can now wield their weapons when mount-riding smaller dinos. Found within 130 treasure chests and available now, the Explorer Notes contain the stories of actual inhabitants who have previously lived on the isle, as well as provide a temporary XP ... As Gamers we are a divisive lot. We have very differing views on a great many things and are not adverse to a little friendly discussion. There is one thing however that unites nearly all of us, and that is our dislike of cheaters. Those who people who use little (or large) tricks and fiddles to get around the restrictions of the game to gain an unfair advantage on us that work hard, playing the game properly are the scourge of many an online game. This is something that the people at Wildcard Studios have struggled with on their game ... Read More »
Arks next patch is out now - v741.0 - bringing with it new items, various fixes and 2 new dinos. However, the long-awaited 'Redwood Update' for the center map still isn't out. This is possibly down to the issues The Center map has been experiencing on PC, with high memory usage causing problems since its most recent patch. At this time Studio Wildchaven'tvent been able to fix these issues completely so probably don't want to include a buggy update for Xbox Owners. (Isn't the whole game buggy, though?) So what are we getting? With the update comes two new tamable flyers: Tapejara and Archaeopteryx ... Read More »

Whilst out riding my mammoth collecting wood I was rudely booted back to the home screen, panic set in as Manny is now out there alone, in the wilderness and set to passive! Try as I might I haven't been able to log back into the North American server I was on. In fact, I'm not able to log into ANY NA server at this time. And this is why: We are experiencing some downtime with a collection of servers. We are in touch with our host & will get them back online as soon as we can. — Jen (@bubblywums) ... Read More »
Are you an Ark fan? Is the game causing you some issues at the moment? You're probably aware that since the redwood biome update Ark has had an issue. And it's quite a big issue at that - the game is continually force closing on you. Not a good thing if you happen to be flying your quetz to go get some metal, fighting an alpha rex or even doing a simple tame. The annoyance level of being booted back to the dashboard is tremendous. Studio Wildcard were quick to remedy this issue with the release of Patch Version 738.3. Designed to fix ... Read More »
In case you didn't know, Xbox allows certain games to 'test' the water on Xbox One. Utilising the Game preview section, devs are able to have their game in the store in a type of pre-release format. This allows them to optimise the game and iron out any major bugs before the final release, it also means that for you - the consumer - you have access to an 'as yet' unfinished game at a reduced cost. It's a gamble, to say the least, as purchasing a preview game will ultimately have one of 2 outcomes. Either you will get the game at a ... Read More »
The ARK: Survival Evolved 736 Update went live on the Xbox One earlier today bringing a swathe of fixes and new features to the game. At a hefty 1.6 gigabytes of data this new update has patched up some bugs and given you the ability to toss certain items. The Xbox One update has fixed multiple out of control Dinosaur spawners on a map known as The Center. The out of control spawners tended to spawn an unreasonable amount of dinos and other creatures, so much so that the Xbox One console that was serving as the games server would tend ... Read More »
