We're closing in fast on the first birthday for one of 2016's greatest games, Overwatch, and Blizzard Entertainment are celebrating in style. So far Blizzard have announced that on May 23rd, three new arena maps will be available to all players. These maps are themed on current maps Eichenwalde, Temple of Anubis and Dorado. If you're wondering what type of map is an "arena" map, think Ecopoint; Antarctica. These new maps will likely be added to the rotation of playlists like 3v3 Elimination, though if you play that mode, you have serious problems. Check out the tweet from the official ... Read More »

What could it mean? The official Xbox UK Twitter today changed their cover photo and profile pic to a familiar, green start menu and original Xbox logo. Alongside that, they also tweeted out an invitation to join them on November 15th to celebrate 15 years in the console biz. https://twitter.com/xboxuk/status/798184571296620545 There’s no word yet on precisely what sort of celebrations to expect, although given the prominence of the Original Xbox, rather than the Xbox brand as a legacy, fans are already assuming one thing is coming: Backwards compatibility for Original Xbox games. It's something that Xbox chief Phil Spencer has ... Read More »
Fifteen years. What a wild ride. Fifteen years of Xbox green, the Master Chief and our favourite console family. On 15 November, 2001. Xbox was introduced to the world. Not everyone's Xbox love goes back that far - but many of those who were there at the beginning, marvelling at interstellar wars in Halo or drifting 'round city Streets in Project Gotham Racing, are still part of our Xbox family. We can't wait to see what's in store in the future - and we're excited to relive those last fifteen years in some great company this Tuesday, 15 November, Xbox's birthday. (Yes, ... Read More »
To think it was almost three years ago that we were graced with it's presence, Xbox One has come along way since making a total U-turn of it's original ideas. Happy 10th birthday Saints Row. You can check out all the details over on the Saints Row Facebook page right here. Saints Row first hit the Xbox 360 on 29th August 2006 and considered by ... Read More »
Cortana's great. We love Cortana. Whether she's helping out the Chief of telling me that I'll need an umbrella tomorrow, she's one useful AI. Her voice recognition skills (and general ability to tell us poetry) are very much improved over the standard Xbox One voice controls. But... she's not quite as snappy as we'd like when it comes to grabbing that screenshot or recording that perfect headshot, for example. If you'd like to turn Cortana off - which will revert your Xbox to regular voice commands - here's how: Double tap the Xbox Guide button on your controller to bring up the ... Read More »
