343 Insdustries have confirmed that the next Halo game in the FPS franchise will not appear at this years E3. In a Reddit post, Brian Jarred said: I'll slip into my Dreamcrusher persona for a minute in the name of realistic expectations: We've said this already but we'll have a little something at E3 but it's not related to the next major entry in the franchise. Jarrad has diminished fans hopes of what they expected to appear E3. With little detail to name, and nothing set in stone, we know that 343 Industries have been working away on the next ... How do you compose a dynamic soundtrack? How do you decide what instruments to use? How do you work with themes created by legendary composers? Xbox One UK: What was the first action you all took in beginning to compose Halo Wars 2's score, and how did the process continue from there? Brian Trifon: The first thing we did was identify the aesthetic that collectively we wanted to create for the score. That process involved ... Read More »

After last week’s Halo Mega Bloks leak, 343 Industries – the developers behind the series – have hinted that a game aimed at younger audiences could be on the horizon. Mega Bloks (essentially a hybrid of Lego and Duplo) have previously made Halo-related toy sets, so it seems natural that they’d want to release a game around the same premise. And when footage found its way on to the internet last weekend, the response was overwhelming positive. In their weekly dev blog, 343’s community manager discussed ‘Project Haggar’, as it was codenamed, saying: Who knows, with so much positive support ... Read More »

If you play Halo 5 this weekend - that's 26-27 November - you'll be the lucky recipient of an exclusive in-game emblem, Thanks Given. The emblem, revealed on the official Halo Twitter channel, looks a bit like Foghorn Leghorn's been crammed into a Spartan helmet. We like it. We also like the idea of poor, defenceless, tasty birds donning armour and equipping Designated Marksmen Rifles whenever the Bernard Matthews truck rolls around... https://twitter.com/Halo/status/801848114453905411 Of course, us Europeans can hang onto this emblem for now, and display it proudly on 25 December, which is THE CORRECT DATE FOR EATING TURKEY. Make sure ... Read More »

Halo has and probably always will be a staple of the Xbox gaming community having been around as long as the platform itself, it's hard to imagine an Xbox generation not having the ability to play a Halo game. Halo started as little more than a neatly packed trilogy ending in 2007 but since then it has exploded into a universe of diverse story telling in the form of novels, secret websites and even new games. Halo Wars (Released February 2009) was the first game to show us a taste of the new and improved Haloverse that was to come, no longer ... Read More »
Today has seen quite a lot of information released onto the world wide web regarding the development status of Halo Wars 2. The update came from Dan Ayoub, Studio Head of Strategy Games, 343 Industries. In a post on the official Halo Waypoint website Ayoub stressed that the studio have been working hard to rectify and fine tune some of the issues brought to their attention during the BETA stage a couple of months ago. One of the biggest problems the game faced during its BETA stage was the plague of connectivity and de-synch issues. The Head of Strategy Games at 343 ... Read More »
