Major League Gaming, once the largest esports company in North America, is going out of business. In a special meeting on Dec. 21, MLG’s Board of Directors approved an Asset Purchase Agreement granting Activision Blizzard a large majority of MLG’s assets in exchange for $46 million. The next day, a letter went out to stockholders informing them of the sale. From the moment I saw the reveal trailer for Star Wars Battlefront, I was on-board the hype train. It looked incredible! In fact if you don’t remember it, here it is: But as many of us know, this is what DICE does best. They make these breathtaking, cinematic trailers, where the most amazing game scenarios happen, and deep down we all know its too good to be true. But I didn’t care, I accepted it, and personally couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. The games release perfectly coincided with the release of episode 7, The Force Awakens, and … Read More »

Bungie recently released their year end update after what I’m sure many of us, mainly the Destiny addicts, would consider a successful 2015. Amongst other things this year saw the release of The Taken King which is seen as what Destiny should have been from the start by fans and critics of the franchise alike. As well as The Taken King, year two saw some other introductions from Bungie, some that were enjoyed (SRL), some that were fun but didn’t really captivate anyone (Festival of Light) and some that downright annoyed certain people (looking at you microtransactions). Yet despite all of … Read More »

Rise of the Tomb Raider was the best selling digital Xbox One game during the Christmas week. TICGN posted the top 10 best selling digital Xbox One games during Christmas week. Rise of the Tomb Raider was on the top of the list. The chart doesn’t include free games, so it’s fair. Lara Croft’s latest adventure managed to edge out Star Wars Battlefront. This is impressive since Star Wars: The Force Awakens came out the week before Christmas. Rise of the Tomb Raider has had a bit of a resurgence after getting utterly buried when it first came out on November … Read More »
