About: Stephen Loftus

I'm a Dad to my daughter and my dog, a gamer since I was born and a TV nut since I could open my eyes! Like my taste in music, I have a wide variety of genres of games that I play. My preference would have to be RPG though. Gamertag: Stevee

A bond between father and daughter is something rather special. A bond between child and dog is also quite unique. Pewter Games' The Little Acre shows us the true meaning of the relationship between parent, child and dog, as it sends us on a humorous, heart-warming journey to find a father missing between two worlds. The first thing you notice upon loading up the game is the beautiful and lovingly-crafted hand drawn animation, inspired by classic animated films like The Land Before Time, An American Tail, and All Dogs Go To Heaven, to name a few. These are unmistakeably films ... Read More »
Recently, Square Enix released a press release detailing what it has in store for the future of its epic RPG. The below is a transcript from the Japanese announcement as there has been no official announcement in English thus far, so there may be some slight translation errors. Either way, it sounds pretty exciting. “Thank you for playing Final Fantasy XV. Final Fantasy XV was able to achieve a truly great milestone, shipping five million copies worldwide on its release day. I Would like to express my gratitude to the many who purchased it. "Currently, we have many players all ... Read More »

Are Activision trying to gain their fans back, and encourage them to return to the franchise? It seems like for the first time they've read A Christmas Carol and have taken a page from Scrooge's book. Not really known for limited events other than Double XP and 24/7 single map lobbies, the CoD publisher has decided to shower us with festive cheer this year, and offer some incentives to bring back the players since it's taken a hit from recent Call of Duty titles. Posted over at Activision's own blog, they've released some information on what they have in store for us this Christmas: ... Read More »
Load up Final Fantasy XV and "A Final Fantasy for fans and first-timers" is the first thing you will see. A broad statement and a proud boast, to be sure. Is it one developer Square Enix can live up to? Final Fantasy XV takes place in the land of Eos, following our protagonist Prince Noctis and his three friends: Gladiolus, Ignis, and Promptu as they embark on a dangerous and Daemon-filled road trip to fulfil Prince Noctis' destiny. However, things don't get off to a good start when their car breaks down, leaving the four friends to push it to the nearest petrol station. ... Another MOBA has entered our mists, this time it's Gigantic, a third person shooter. Gigantic is classed as "a hardcore 5v5 action for skilled gamers". An MOBA wouldn't be complete without its huge roster of characters, all with their own unique abilities and skills. Use weapons and spells to defeat your foes and come out on top, fighting enemy teams and summoning incredible creatures. Slightly different to other MOBA's, Gigantic requires you to work as a team building up power for your team's Guardian. Once earned, go GIGANTIC and squish the enemy team. Each character has their own unique skilltree that ... Read More »
Daedalic's Silence is a sequel to the point and click adventure The Whispered World, released back in 2009. This time however, the world you're exploring is a lot more grim than the land of Silence once was; playing upon the concept of the barrier between life and death, everything is conjured up from one teenager's imagination. Silence is quite unsettling from the get go, as this title toys around with psychology and similar themes. From the orphans' escape of an air raid, to the realisation that you've just walked out of a humongous world war unscathed, you'll experience all the darker thoughts that inhabit this child's mind. Playing primarily as Noah, an orphaned teenager looking ... Read More »
The Mists of Ravenwood is the sequel to Enigmatis: The Ghosts of Maple Creek, by developer & publisher Artifex Mundi, an independent company famous for bringing to the table point and click / hidden object hybrid games. Mists is no different. In fact, it seems with each release ported to Xbox One, Artifex warms to the task at hand, with more in-depth storytelling and challenging puzzles. Mists of Ravenwood takes place one year on from the events of Maple Creek, following our unnamed protagonist as she sleuths her way through another supernatural occurrence, this time through the Redwood Carving Heritage Park, all whilst following a lead on the disappearance ...
