Developers Supergiant Games, have announced it’s critically-acclaimed title Bastion, is on it’s way to Xbox One in December. The original game’s resolution was only 720p, but Supergiant Games have claimed they have re-built the game from the ground up, to take advantage of current gen consoles and will now be in glorious 1080p – that’s not to say the original wasn’t already beautifully crafted. Super Mario 64, Crash Bandicoot and Banjo & Kazooie. What do they have in common? Other than becoming recognisable and setting the bar for games that followed, they were fun 3D platformers of the late nineties that caused a ‘collection addiction’ in some, if not most, gamers who played them. There has been a huge shortage of titles from this genre of late, especially this current generation, but we are now starting to see a ‘rebirth’ of the genre. With Yooka-Laylee, Banjo-Kazooie’s spiritual successor, on the horizon and Skylar & Plux, a title inspired from another popular 3D platformer in the works, we’re certain … Read More »

When this year’s iteration of Call of Duty was announced with it’s trailer revealed shortly after, the internet was in uproar. Soon after that, they announced that they will include a remastered Modern Warfare to please it’s fans, but with a hefty price to pay. That seemed like the last straw, for long-term fans have decided to abandon the franchise, calling Activision ‘greedy’. When the beta for Infinite Warfare arrived, it was clear that they were continuing to proceed down the micro-transaction route. However, micro-transactions in games rarely affect the overall outcome of the game, merely adding cosmetic items available to … Read More »

We’re starting to see an abundance of games celebrating special occasions, allowing you to acquire limited-time gear or take part in special events. Gears of War 4 is the next title to adopt this feature. So to celebrate the spooky tradition that is Halloween, Gears of War 4 are hosting their first limited-time event – Pumpkin Ball. Pumpkin Ball is basically the Dodgeball mode in the playlist, with some slight changes to speed up the game. Respawn timers have been reduced to just 1 second and respawn protection is much shorter.
