Guns, guns, guns. Without them, modern warfare would just be a lot of pushing and shoving. And Battlefield 1's guns are some of the meatiest, most believable around. We loved Battlefield 1 - and we think that it (more or less) nailed that delicate weapon balance in multiplayer from the off. We still hate shotguns though, and we can't hit a barn door with the Martini-Henry. You might have a different opinion - and here's your chance to have your say. DICE's chief weapons designer has taken to Reddit to ask for any and all feedback about the guns of ... Read More »

2016 was a great year for gaming - hot on the heels of "the best games lineup in Xbox history" at the end of 2015, we played some stunning games in 2016. Some of our favourites included Inside, Fru, Overwatch, Doom, Titanfall 2 and our Game of the Year 2016, Forza Horizon 3. The past, though, is history. Your destiny (we refuse to make Bungie game pun here) lies ahead of you, so let's take a look at all the games we believe will be releasing in 2017. As time moves ever onwards we'll do our best to keep the ... Read More »
The list of Xbox 360 games playable on your Xbox One is growing all the time, thanks to new games joining the Backwards Compatibility programme. With hundreds of games to choose from, let's look at a few hidden gems on the list. First up is Space Giraffe - a typically psychedelic Jeff Minter shooter that tragically underperformed in sales-terms on Xbox 360. A real shame, because this is one of Minter's best (don't know who Jeff Minter is? You might know his work). This colourful Tempest-inspired blaster can be utterly overwhelming, until that moment where it clicks and it becomes utterly ... Read More »
As well as confirming that Mass Effect: Andromeda will be available early for EA Access subscribers, BioWare team members took to Twitter to confirm there will be no season pass for the game. The official Mass Effect Twitter account responded to a direct question to confirm that EA Access members will be able to hop back into the Mas Effect universe before other players. There's no talk of how much earlier, but in the past the early access period has lasted a week. https://twitter.com/masseffect/status/817529817100795904?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw It seems like today was a bit of a Q&A session for the team over at BioWare; ... If you can overlook the lowkey homophobia - and we're not suggesting you should - there's an entertaining telly programme lurking around somewhere in Amazon Prime's The Grand Tour. If you like fast cars and buffoonery (heavy on the buffoonery), that is. Xbox (not always known for making the most sensible of decisions when it comes to the celebrities they snuggle up with and the parties they throw) clearly decided that recent allegedly homophobic comments from one of the hosts wasn't enough to deter the motoring collective from appearing on the Xbox couch, alongside Xbox's AceyBongos. "Turns out I'm good at that as ... Read More »
If you want to see Harley Quinn taking it to Captain Cold, Injustice 2 is where it's at. The super hero punch-up is eagerly awaited by comic book and fighting game fans alike (a Venn diagram would show a fairly sizable overlap, if a straw poll of the Xbox One UK castle's inhabitants is to be believed). Well, it looks like we have a street date for the NetherRealm Studios fighter - if we're not reading too much into the studio's creative director's Tweet. https://twitter.com/noobde/status/817487071438848000 Injustice 2. o5. 16. 17. First announced back in 2013, it was RiME's 2014 Gamescom trailer that really stole our hearts - telling the tale of a young boy who must use his wits and ingenuity to survive and ultimately escape from a mysterious island and a terrible curse. Immediately winning our "Cutest Warthog Ever In A Trailer" award (yes, that's a real thing, move over Pumbaa) we were somewhat crestfallen at Tequila Works' decision to publish the title as a PS4 exclusive. After that, things went quiet on the RiME front, but now it's been officially confirmed that the former PS4-exclusive title will be released ... Read More »
