Microsoft head of Xbox Phil Spencer has spoken out further to gamers after this weeks cancellation of the Xbox One exclusive, Scalebound. Spencer previously said the decision was ‘difficult’ but indicated that it would be ‘better for Xbox gamers.’ Spencer has now spoken out further about risk taking in the wake of the Scalebound demise via Twitter. Whilst stating that Microsoft will continue to take risks with games that get the green light, he said that “I know we have to take risks. Ubisoft have this week opened up closed beta registration for the upcoming For Honor. Scheduled to run between January 26th – 29th, there will be no timed exclusivity for the console version. You can head straight on over to the games official website to sign up now! This beta will specifically focus on the three tribes in the game – Knights, the Samurai and the Vikings. Slated as ‘War of the Factions‘ you’ll be able to join one of the tribes and all multiplayer progress will be tracked. The winning faction will then receive in-game rewards. Rare have released the latest trailer for the upcoming pirate fest, Sea of Thieves. Senior designers, Shelley and Andrew Preston talk through the cooperative aspects that the game will offer. The mechanics demonstrate how forming a crew to work together can be rewarding, literally when chests of treasure are involved. There’s also a sneak peak at competitive gameplay with the ability to ambush other players for there hard earned loot. The silence has ended from Platinum Games, regarding this weeks news that Microsoft have pulled the plug for Xbox One Exclusive Scalebound. However, it might not be the answers we are looking for with no explanation, despite an apology.
