If you believe the arcade machines of the era, the 1980's consisted of a few things: bad guys, ninjas, neon, and pastel coloured clothes. Ninja Shodown, from Bitmap Bureau makes no effort to dispel this myth, instead embracing it and squeezing it for all its worth. The result is a fast and furious arcade game that's really good fun and that knowingly nods to its audience at every opportunity. Its premise is daft - it knows, and it doesn't care. Right from the title screen, the game makes it clear that it knows exactly what it is - a homage ... Read More »

Developed by UK based Deadbeat Productions (which includes devs from Lionhead and Rockstar) and published by Square Enix, Deadbeat Heroes is a game that sees you beating and smashing your way through the worst elements of London's underworld to defeat a gang of super criminals. The Prime Sinister has defeated all the superheroes, and now he's taking over London with his evil gang of master criminals - and only Captain Justice and his team of Deadbeat Heroes can stand in the way of his despicable plans. Ever since the announcement at E3 that the PC sensation Player Unknown's Battlegrounds (or PUBG - pronounced "pub-gee", as it's come to be known) would be coming out for Xbox One this year, we've been waiting with baited breath for some more information. As we entered into Q4 with no solid release date, there has been internet whispering of a delay for the game. Let's face it, games being delayed isn't exactly unusual... However, a tweet from Aaron Greenberg (Head of Xbox Games Marketing at Microsoft) has just rekindled hope that we'll see it as soon as we're hoping. https://twitter.com/aarongreenberg/status/918159321871015936 ... Iron Wings is a WWII flight sim from Italian dev team Naps, which sees you taking to the skies in a variety of planes across different parts of the European campaigns of the war. You play the game as a pair of pilots; Jack is a member of the legendary Tuskegee airmen - a group of African-American fighter pilots, while Amelia is his childhood friend who also happens (conveniently) to have become one hell of a pilot. You can assign different planes to each one and swap between them on the fly - which makes it easier to tackle missions which ... Read More »
Raiders of the Broken Planet is the latest game from Spanish development studio Mercury Steam - best known for their work on the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow titles back on the Xbox 360. Raiders apparently went into development before the second Castlevania game, and is the company's biggest project to date. Raiders of the Broken Planet is ambitious, and quite hard to pin down as a result of it. It's a game that wears its influences on its sleeve - and as you can see, there's a lot of them. It features cover-shooting third person action that's reminiscent of Gears ... Read More »
