You can watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fb69P9UMxMc&feature=youtu.be The update offers changes to Arena, LFG ("Looking For group") notifications, and also makes some minor adjustments to party functionality. The Arena functionality will work for Killer Instinct first, with the plan being for additional games to be added to it in the coming months. It comes in the form of a new 'Tournaments' tab in the game hub, and will allow users to create custom tournaments and ... Read More »
As Destiny winds down following the long metamorphosis into its final form ahead of the release of Destiny 2 in September, playing it has put me into a reflective mood. It feels like I’m saying goodbye to an old friend, one with whom I’ve had profound conversations and suffered crippling hangovers – one with whom I’ve debated and argued and occasionally fallen out, but one with whom I’ve always reconciled in the end. Now that friend is going away, and I’m going to miss it. I remember watching the E3 reveal and seeing the name Bungie attached to it and ... Read More »

Last week at the Build 2017 conference in Seattle, Microsoft unveiled their new motion controller. The short video seen below is high concept, showing the controllers being used in a virtual space: https://youtu.be/t8Y7m1onWoc The controllers appear to have some similarity to those being offered for the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive in terms of form factor and appearance - each features a trigger, thumbstick, touchpad, and grab button. A band of illuminated LEDs will be used to track the controllers in a 3D space - and this is where the real difference in these controllers is apparent. Current VR ... Read More »

Microsoft's Build 2017 developer conference is currently underway in Seattle. While the conference is largely centered around Windows 10 functionality and development, a couple of interesting items for Xbox owners have surfaced. Microsoft's Fluent Design system will be coming to Xbox. This could mean changes to the UI and dashboard that we're all accustomed to, as it's designed to bring transparency and depth to the design. Implementation of this system means that large blocks of coloured tiles could give way to layers of translucent tiles - making your Xbox display more beautiful than ever before. In a note to investors, Square Enix has warned of a £33m extraordinary loss in its results for year ending 31st March 2017. With the losses suffered, the sale of developer IO Interactive is now becoming a result. The first season of the Danish developer's most recent game, Hitman, was originally sold as an episodic title before being bundled on disc.
