SEGA have revealed the latest trailer in their upcoming attempt to salvage the reputation of Modern Sonic, Sonic Forces, which gives us some the new footage on the newest Sonic Villain. Enter Infinite. Not much is currently known about Infinite, other than he hates Sonic, he's more powerful than Sonic, he's formed a super league of evil with Eggman, Chaos, Metal Sonic, Shadow and more, and he's taken the title from Shadow as the edgiest Sonic character in existence. Sonic Forces is the latest Sonic game to fuse 2-D and 3-D platforming, much in the same way Sonic Generations did. ... Read More »
One of the gaming highlights of 2016 was the return of one of the FPS genre's founding fathers: DOOM. The reboot took what people loved about the original games and modernised it for current gamers. It. Kicked. Ass. Over a year on, Bethesda aren't finished with DOOM just yet, and have released Update 6.66. You know, because the game is about Hell? Funny. The update itself is bringing a number of improvements to multiplayer and the SnapMap feature, but that's not all. Firstly, the season pass has now been retired, with all DLC packs now available for all players, for ... Read More »
After the dizzying heights of Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition last Thursday, Microsoft were going to have to dig deep to try and top that announcement. With four games being added today, they've given it a good go. Let's take a look at what Major Nelson has tweeted: Costume Quest 2, Virtua Fighter 2, Quantum Conundrum & Frontlines: FoW are coming to Xbox One Back Compat today https://t.co/qPMRNrLoTQpic.twitter.com/eNIuOnmIP0 — 💬 Larry Hryb (@majornelson) July 18, 2017 Costume Quest 2 is already available on Xbox One and was previously part of the Games With Gold program, so apply there only ... With E3 in the bag and out of the way, the next stop in the Xbox One Xpress (geddit?) is Germany for Gamescom 2017 in August. Hoping to build upon the momentum created at E3, Microsoft have announced their schedule for the European conference. The Xbox team are bringing 27 playable games to the show floor of the Cologne based event, including Forza Motorsport 7 and the much anticipated Sea of Thieves, but the fun doesn't stop. At 9pm CEST (7pm GMT/12pm PDT) on Sunday 20th August, we shall be treated to a special Xbox @ Gamescom live show. Hosted ... Read More »
Any residents of the Hidden Leaf Village in the house? Looks like Naruto is entering the realm of 4v4 online multiplayer games. It's already set to be an interesting departure from the traditional 1v1 arena fighters that Naruto has become accustomed to, and one that could be genuinely fun if the trailer is anything to go by. Players will pick characters from the Naruto series that fall into 1 of 4 classes: Attack, Ranged, Defense and Heal. All are fairly self-explanatory classes and roles, and the gameplay itself looks to be simple enough for anyone to pick up and play. The ... Read More »
For those of you who held out on buying the sci-fi Dark Souls combination that is The Surge, your patience might have been rewarded; there's a demo coming next week. Can you survive The Surge's demo? Available next week on PS4, XBox One and PC. pic.twitter.com/2ns2U20BOj — The Surge (@TheSurgeGame) July 12, 2017 There's no word yet on when exactly the demo will drop, how much content the demo will contain or if progress will carry over to the full version, but any chance to try the game before you buy it is a good one. The full game has ... Read More »
Many have thought that the backwards compatibility program has been slowing down somewhat over the past couple of weeks, myself included. There are only a finite number of games to utilise, after all. But then something like this happens and my faith has been restored all over again. Major Nelson has just tweeted the following: Super Streetfighter IV Arcade Edition is coming to Xbox One Backward Compatibility today https://t.co/qPMRNrLoTQpic.twitter.com/WfShOJpLGm — 💬 Larry Hryb (@majornelson) July 13, 2017 You may remember a couple of months back that the vanilla version of Street Fighter IV joined the library, which seemed pointless given ... It's been no secret that Blizzard were planning on introducing the villainous Doomfist to the world of Overwatch at some point, but that time has finally arrived and it is glorious! After being alluded to, teased and generally being dangled like a carrot in front of a donkey, Doomfist has emerged to lay the smackdown on the entire Overwatch roster. Sent him to jail, will they? Time to send them to hell! In two new videos uploaded to the Overwatch YouTube channel, we get an idea as to what Doomfist is all about. Unfortunately, there's no Terry Crews, so I ... Read More »
Tekken fans have been blessed with a lot of quirky modes over the years, such as Tekken Force or Tekken Ball, but sadly these weren't included in the release of Tekken 7. The DLC, however, is a different story. In August, as part of the Season Pass, players will be able to enjoy Tekken Bowl in full HD glory, otherwise known as Ultimate Tekken Bowling. It's just like it was in Tekken Tag Tournament only shinier and not part of the main game. Still, it's a nice little inclusion for long-time fans of the series. No word on a proper ... Read More »
