McFarlane Toys has been a staple in actions figures for comics, movies, and video games.  Their attention to detail and quality is second to none.  Now they are partnering up with Bungie to create action figures for Destiny.  They are modeling one of each class and are wearing famed armor sets from the game's history.  The Warlock is wearing the King's Fall raid armor set.  The Titan is going old school with some sweet Vault of Glass gear.  Lastly, the Hunter has a really nice set of Iron Banner armor. The figures are set to be released in July.  They ... Read More »
Anyone who has ever played any kind of shooter is familiar with the sniper.  A sniper can be your worst nightmare of the guy camping in the back of a map picking you off.  It could be the amazing player running around and quick scoping your life away.  Or maybe it's even that awesome jumping amazing no scope that leaves you scratching your head #360NoScopeYOLO.  However there is an intelligent art form that comes with real world sniping.  Things such as wind speed, gravity, distance, and even the curvature of the earth can play a factor in a sniper's shot. ... "Do people even still play this game?"  It's a joke faithful guardians in Destiny hear and even though the content is running dry in the MMO FPS looter shooter, it's time to start making plans for the sequel.  Activision held its yearly investor call recapping successes from last year and what is planned for this year.  According to page 9 of the presentation, Destiny 2 will be out later this year in 2017. Right next to Destiny it clearly states: Full Destiny sequel in 2017 to broaden the franchise's global reach, which along with follow-on content plans, sets the stage ... Read More »
The Universal Windows Platform (UWP) allowed developers to create apps that would easily port between Windows 10 PC's as well as the Xbox One.  Programs such as VLC media player and Skype are almost direct ports from their PC app counterparts.  That same freedom is now going to be coming to game developers as well. Microsoft held its Windows Developer Day for the Creators Update, where it formally announced that UWP games will be coming to the console this year.  It appears though that the feature will be coming later on this year because the creators update hasn't been pushed ... January wasn't the most active month for EA Access members.  The EA Access Vault is a great way for gamers of many genres to play full versions of a ton of games for a small monthly fee.  So let's at least recap what came to the vault in January and what we know is coming. Last month fans of the Battlefield series rejoiced with Battlefield 3 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2.  These were at least 2 worthy titles and not simply "filler." What we do know is coming though is: Dead Space: Ignition Madden NFL '17 Skate 3 Zuma's Revenge ... Read More »
There is a saying that says "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery."  People will often imitate their idols or someone/something that excels in the way they do things, possibly without even trying.  Toby: The Secret Mine, created by Lukas Navratil and published by Headup Games, takes a lot of inspiration off of games such as Limbo and Nihilumbra but not without seeming too much like a lesser polished, although still enjoyable, version of its predecessors. At it's core, Toby: The Secret Mine is a platformer and puzzle game at its core.  Right from the first time you start the game, you ... Read More »
