Today (11th July), Bandai Namco launched patch v1.03 for Dark Souls Remastered across all platforms aimed at fixing a variety of bugs. There will also be server maintenance throughout the day. Some of the main bugs that are now resolved involve bosses such as The Four Kings and Lord of Cinder, display of Estus Flask possession, and various tweaks to multiplayer. The Xbox games library keeps getting bigger with Microsoft announcing that both Overlord and Overlord 2 are now backwards compatible on the Xbox One. Originally released in 2007 on the Xbox 360 by Triumph Studios, Overlord was a delightfully quirky adventure game that incorporates real-time strategy elements that sees players acquire and control a growing army of minions to do your bidding through combat and puzzle solving in order to become the best villain you can be. During the run-up to its highly anticipated release, there was a lot of debate surrounding whether or not Dark Souls Remastered was, well, enough of a remaster to be worth players’ time. Now that the game has been released for almost a month now, and whilst there are still those with valid criticisms of the overall quality of the game, the verdict is overall pretty positive; it is still very much Dark Souls – and there’s not much wrong about that. After the overwhelming success of last year’s Assassin’s Creed: Origins, the first cinematic trailer for the next iteration in the series was unveiled at Ubisoft’s conference. Taking place during the Peloponnesian war, Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey is set to take in Ancient Greece where players are promised to go on a quest to become an epic Greek hero. After getting our first look at The Division 2‘s gameplay at Microsoft’s conference, we got to see even more of what we can expect to see in the gritty open world co-op shooter in a gorgeous cinematic trailer for the game depicting the post-apocalyptic Washington setting.
