The ESL UK Premiership Finals Are This Weekend!

Weeks of online competition has finally brought us the four teams that will be playing live at the ESL Premiership Finals this weekend in Manchester.

On Saturday, March 30th MnM Gaming, Team Secret, Vexed Gaming and Wind and Rain will head to the Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Manchester to compete for the title of Premiership Champions, and the first place prize of £4,400. Two semi finals and the grand final will be played in front of a live audience, which you can be a part of by purchasing tickets.

The defending Premiership champions Team Secret are once again looking to lift the trophy, and undoubtedly go in as the favourites. They were the only team to go undefeated in the group stage, with their only minor slip up happening against MnM Gaming when they drew 6-6 in the final week of the group stage. Beating the Pro League team will not be easy for any of the other finalists.

However, MnM Gaming have already proven they can go toe to toe with Secret, and have a very good shot at walking out as champions. They only lost one match, which was to Secret, during the group stage and dominated the other two teams in the group, even picking up a 7-0 victory over Flylo. They then managed to defeat Epsilon Esports, who finished third in the other group, to book their spot in Manchester.

Wind and Rain have the unenviable task of facing Team Secret in the first semi final in Manchester. They had a solid group stage, but of the four finalists they had the worst record, picking up three wins, one draw, and two losses. Things didn’t look good for Wind and Rain when they faced off against Who Knows, who placed third in Group A, in the playoffs, as they lost the first map 7-1. However, they turned it around with impressive 7-5 and 7-4 victories in the next two maps to qualify for the LAN finals.

The final team playing in Manchester is Vexed Gaming, who topped Group B. While they did lead top the group they were nowhere near as convincing as Team Secret from Group A, as they lost two matches, one of which was to Unnamed, which was the only win they managed to pick up all season. But everyone has an off day, so do not count Vexed out.

If you aren’t able to make it to Manchester to catch the action live you can of course watch it all on the Rainbow Six UK Twitch channel, and keep up to date with everything that is going on via the Rainbow Six UK Facebook and Twitter accounts.
