The Rainbow Six ESL UK Premiership Returns

With the open qualifiers over and done with, the group stage of the ESL UK Rainbow Six Siege Premiership is back for another season of top quality action.

Every Wednesday you will be able to tune into the Premiership over on Twitch to watch eight of the UK and Ireland’s best Rainbow Six teams compete for a spot at the grand finals on March 30th 2019. The action begins at 7pm every Wednesday, with the first round of matches kicking off later today.

The top four teams from the last season of the UK Premiership, Team Secret, MNM Gaming, Vexed and Unnamed, were invited to the group stages after their strong performance last time around. They will be joined by the top four teams from the open qualifiers, Who Knows, Flyo, Wind and Rain (formerly Nothing Works) and No More Than 30 Ping.

In the first open qualifier it was Who Knows who came out on top, beating No More Than 30 Ping in the final. However, as the top two teams make it through to the next stage of the Premiership we will be seeing both teams in action. Who Knows were actually knocked into the lower bracket by No More Than 30 Ping, making their victory in the grand final even sweeter.

In the second open qualifier it was Flyo and Nothing Works (now picked up by Wind and Rain), that made it through to the group stage. Nothing Works went undefeated throughout the qualifier and won most of their games in convincing fashion. Expect them to be a real contender in the upcoming group stage.

The eight teams have been split into two groups of four, with two returning teams and two qualifier teams in each group. Group A features reigning champions Team Secret, MNM Gaming, Who Knows and Flyo. Group B is made up of Vexed, Unnamed, Wind and Rain and No More Than 30 Ping.

When the group stage comes to a close on March 6th the top team in each group will qualify for the live LAN finals. Then the second and third place teams in each group will compete in a playoff for the remaining spots in the finals on March 20th. More information about the finals will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Be sure to tune into the action as the latest season of the ESL UK Premiership gets underway later today, and make sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter, and use the #ESLPrem hashtag, to keep up to date with the tournament.
