Get A Disc-Less Xbox One Next Year

The way we buy how games has changed a lot over the past few years. Many of us now don’t bother with any physical copies of games preferring to opt for only digital versions of the games that we love.

Microsoft have seen this trend and according to “people familiar with the company’s plans” they are planning on releasing a console without a blu-ray drive next year. In other words this will be a digital only console. This digital only console will be significantly cheaper than the regular version of the console.

Along with this news we have also heard that they will be running a ‘disc-to-digital’ program that will allow people to trade in their physical copies of games for digital versions at participating shops.

What do you think? Will this be the death of the High Street games shop? Let us know in the comments section below.
