The Xbox games library keeps getting bigger with Microsoft announcing that both Overlord and Overlord 2 are now backwards compatible on the Xbox One.
Originally released in 2007 on the Xbox 360 by Triumph Studios, Overlord was a delightfully quirky adventure game that incorporates real-time strategy elements that sees players acquire and control a growing army of minions to do your bidding through combat and puzzle solving in order to become the best villain you can be. The game was critically acclaimed, landing itself a boast-worthy 8/10 from Eurogamer.
Overlord 2 followed in 2009 and saw the return it’s predecessor’s fantastic humour as well as tightening the various mechanics that made its predecessor great, alongside ironing out some of the minor flaws that held it back. In other words, Overlord 2 did what every sequel should.
Owners of physical versions of these games are can simply insert the disc into their Xbox One console to download and play, or you can purchase each game digitally from the Microsoft Store for £8.99 each.
