Football fans woke up this morning to the a brand new announcement trailer for Pro Evolution Soccer 2019. While Konami‘s answer to FIFA hasn’t seen the same sales figures as EA’s flagship footie game recently, the newest PES title could potentially be a turning point for the franchise.
Although there is still little known about the game at the moment, the latest announcement revealed that Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho will take centre stage on the game’s standard edition artwork whilst David Beckham will appear on the special edition of the game, and, from the looks of the trailer, will be playable in this edition.
A large part in the decline of PES‘s popularity has been its failure to land major licencing of teams and stadiums, but according to The Metro Konami are committed to increasing the licences of their game; screenshots of the game already indicate there will be a fully licenced Liverpool team this year, but it is as yet unclear how many more teams, stadiums, and legends will be included.
Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 will be available in the UK on 30th August.
