Retail Store Grainger Games Could Be Going Into Administration Imminently
There have been numerous reports/ complaints from customers of Grainger Games over the last couple of days, with speculation surrounding it could be going into administration soon.
Many Twitter users are disgruntled over the fact that they’re pre-ordering games and not receiving them. Several replies from Grainger Games shows they’re cancelling and refunding a hell of a lot of orders:
Hi, as requested I have cancelled this order for you and issued a full refund. Many thanks.

Hi, I have cancelled your order and issued a full refund, please allow 3-5 working days for this to go back into your account.

Even some stores are displaying ‘Out of Stock’ on popular titles, with other stores not taking any pre-orders at all.
Not to mention the website hasn’t been working for quite some time.
Stephen Bowyer, CEO of Grainger Games told ChronicleLive this:
“Confidence in UK high street retail has been at an all-time low which has been further impacted by recent retailer failures. On the back of this, we have very recently been notified that Grainger has had or will have certain supplier credit limits cut or removed. This has come as shock to us all and presents a significant operating challenge driven by factors outside our control. We are working tirelessly with our advisers to explore all options and are in dialogue with a number of interested parties regarding the future of the business.”
By the sounds of it, Grainger Games are trying desperately to seek out alternative methods to keep the business afloat, but with the recent closure of Toys R Us after they announced they went into administration, it looks as though financial suppliers aren’t seeing much of a benefit of a High Street store these days.
It’s purely speculation at the moment but do you think it’s game over for Grainger Games? What are your thoughts on the retail store? We would be happy to hear your thoughts and opinions in the comments below.
