Fortnite New Update and Cross Platform Play

Another week, another update for the battle royale juggernaut Fortnite. Version 3.3 will drop this Thursday bringing with it a few changes, Most notably smoke grenades are being removed and llamas will be added. Although the contents of the llamas have not yet been shown they can be interacted with the same way you interact with chests and ammo boxes.

The bad News with the current update is that the Jetpack is still a no-show. Speaking in a recent development update Eric Williamson said this:

“We identified some issues with it and we wanted to make sure those were all sorted out before we release it, In the meantime, we’ll have some new things coming soon.”

Finally, Fortnite is going cross-play between Xbox One, PC, Mac, iOS and Android. In a Recent blog post, they stated:

“Microsoft has long been a leading voice in supporting cross-platform play, connecting players across PC, mobile and all consoles.”

And to make things even more convenient, not only are you going to be able to play against mobile users, but they’re even including cross-progression between all platforms, so you won’t have to fear buying multiple battle passes!

This is an awesome step in the right direction for Fortnite, bringing more players together adds a whole new level of fun.

How do you feel about cross-play and cross-progression? We’d be happy to hear  your thoughts and opinions in the comments.
