We Happy Few Delayed Again

We Happy Few is a survival, exploration game set in a dystopian world currently in the game preview program on the Xbox One. Since it’s initial release into the program in 2016 the full release of the game has had several delays. It has now been announced that We Happy Few has been delayed again.

We Happy Few was set to launch in the spring of this year. Now it is been slated for a summer launch instead. According to the developer they are tweaking around the first couple of hours of the game as they didn’t seem to sit well with the tone of the rest of the game. Producer Sam Abbot had this to say about that section of the game “(they) didn’t live up to those [very funny, super weird] moments’ that punctuate the rest of the adventure, and as such We Happy Few ‘didn’t start as well as it should.” he went on to say “So we went back to the drawing board and made a couple of big decisions: We brought forward a number of story moments, to get into the action faster, and also rebuilt the whole first island for Arthur,”

The life of We Happy Few started out on Kickstarter but was then picked up by Microsoft. It received Early Access releases for both the Xbox and PC. There has so far been constant communication from the developers which is always a good sign. This delay will be disappointing for fans but it is also nice to see a developer working to improve their games.

As of yet we obviously have no firm release date for the full version of We Happy Few but as soon as we get any update on the progress of the game we will let you know.
