You Can Play Battle Royale In Fortnite For Free On September 26th

In an announcement on their website, Epic Games have announced that players on Xbox One will be able to play the Battle Royale mode for free on Tuesday 26th September.

The developer describes the game mode as:

It’s a 100-player PvP mode in Fortnite that will be free for everybody on Sept. 26. One giant map. A battle bus. Fortnite building skills and destructible environments combined with intense PvP combat. The last one standing wins.

Squads will be introduced to the game on the same day.

Epic have also confirmed that they will not be selling items that will provide players with a competitive advantage but do plan to offer “cosmetics or compendium like content” at some point in the future. The “Save the World” PvE content is referred to as still being in early access and a Hallowe’en event is alluded to.
