Upcoming Battle Royale Game Will Have 400-Player Matches

Just to be clear, we’re not talking about that other anticipated battle royale game. We’re talking about UK developer Automaton’s battle royale title, made using their own cloud-based technology.

Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds features up to 100 players battling it out at once to see who will come out on top and eat their winning chicken dinner, but Project X is set to feature up to 400 players at once competing against one another to be number one.

The difference with Project X, aside from the larger-scale lobbies, is that it will feature MMO-like content with a story and social space amongst other features.

Project X is due to release sometime in 2018 however, some of the development team will be at EGX this week discussing The Future of MMO, Thursday at 3.30pm.
