Don’t Let Me Down!
With Microsoft’s reputation for making special consoles, another one is not off their agenda. In the coming months, they are set to release the Minecraft Xbox One S. Previously, they’ve released the Gears Of War 4 2TB console. But their newest addition to the Specials Collection? Getting together with celebrities and creating that one-of-a-kind console.
For the debut design, Microsoft have decided to jump in feet first with DJ duo, The Chainsmokers. The device has not disappointed, and consists of a rainbow coloured design situated on top of the white Xbox One S console. The cherry on the cake is the couple of autographed white Xbox controllers, which definitely lights up fans’ worlds.
So. You’re probably thinking: how did they manage to design it, especially with that rainbow surface? Easy. Sources from Microsoft have said that the Xbox team used a “thumbnail sized” USB-powered microprocessor that works in real time, converting any sound into an energetic light display. “Sixty miniature pixels” irradiate light from the surface, that consists of multiple layers of acrylic.
Aaron Greenberg, General Manager of Games Marketing at Xbox, has said,
Over my time, I have seen many consoles come to life but nothing ever like this one. This is a true piece of art and we’re so excited that we got to work with the Chainsmokers on it.
The console will be up for grabs on the Chainsmokers’ Twitter page, which fans can win by following the directions. It is sure to be quite the collector’s item!
Microsoft have not supplied us any information on who they will be designing with next, but fans should most certainly have their eyes peeled and be on red alert for what is to follow.
