September Update For Gears Of War 4 Adds Achievements & More

For those amongst you who are still playing Gears of War 4 and haven’t been consumed by the Destiny 2 hype juggernaut, this latest update should be music to your ears.

The September Update for Gears of War 4 will be adding a bunch of new features to the game, including some new achievements designed for first time players to ease themselves into the game. Veteran players will unlock any already completed achievements that have been added, so you might be greeted with up to 500G next time you sign in.

Players can also enjoy 2 new maps, Mercy and Harbor Haze. Set in the hometown of Dominic Santiago’s wife Maria, fans will recognise Mercy from Gears of War 3. It’s exactly how you remember it, except now it’s set during Winter. Meanwhile, Harbor Haze tweaks the already existing Harbor map to add some dynamic heavy fog which affects your visibility. These maps are available right now on the Developer playlist for Season Pass holders, and will be added to public matchmaking on September 12th.

The update also brings forth a bunch of matchmaking changes, bug fixes and will lay the groundwork for Ranked Season 2. For more information, check the official website right here. Will you be enjoying the September Update of Gears of War 4? Sound off in the comments below!
