The second-in-command to Final Fantasy for being one of the most anticipated sequels, let alone the length of time it takes to develop is the Kingdom Hearts saga.
Kingdom Hearts III has apparently been in development for five years, having been twelve years since the last mainstream title, with very little information learnt about the title. Last night saw the annual Square Enix live show in which they dish out tasty teasers and information about their upcoming titles and plans. The one most fans have been waiting for is the highly-speculated new world appearing in Kingdom Hearts III, which we can now gladly announce to you is everybody’s favourite Pixar movie – Toy Story.
That’s right, you’ll finally be able to battle the heartless alongside the likes of Buzz or Woody helping you reach trinity and beyond (geddit?).
Whilst there is a release date, it’s just a mere timeframe of 2018. So it could be anywhere between January and December, but knowing the developers and how often they push back titles, it wouldn’t surprise us if they barely make a 2018 release.
For those that can’t wait, you’ll have to make do with this gorgeous-looking trailer, and by the looks of it, it seems as though those artists over at Pixar have had heavy involvement with this world, even bringing Sora, Goofy & Donald to Pixar life.
Are you a Kingdom Hearts fan? Will you be playing a Kingdom Hearts title for the first time? Either way, will you be looking forward to battling alongside our favourite toys? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below.
