Overwatch’s Doomfist Finally Unveiled, Looks Badass
It’s been no secret that Blizzard were planning on introducing the villainous Doomfist to the world of Overwatch at some point, but that time has finally arrived and it is glorious!
After being alluded to, teased and generally being dangled like a carrot in front of a donkey, Doomfist has emerged to lay the smackdown on the entire Overwatch roster. Sent him to jail, will they? Time to send them to hell!
In two new videos uploaded to the Overwatch YouTube channel, we get an idea as to what Doomfist is all about. Unfortunately, there’s no Terry Crews, so I guess you can’t have it all. The first video deals with Doomfist’s origin, and how he wants to plunge the world in to chaos and war for the betterment of mankind. Survival of the fittest and all that. Also, Overwatch would make an amazing anime. Get on it Blizzard.
The second trailer is a developer breakdown from your boy Jeff Kaplan who breaks down the abilities of Doomfist. Naturally, he’s an offense character designed to dive into enemy teams and cause havoc. His left hand can fire shotgun-like shells, but the fun stuff comes from his gauntlet on the right. He has a shoryuken style uppercut, a chargeable dash punch, a ground slam and an ultimate ability which is a better ground slam. He also gets a temporary shield whenever he deals ability damage, which aught to make him a close range monster. I might have found a new main.
Doomfist is currently available in the PTR, but will be coming soon to all players. What do you think about the inclusion of Doomfist? Let us know in the comments!
