Destiny 2 Beta Trailer Lands
With just over two months to go before the anticipated Destiny sequel launches, we’re gradually gaining more information about what’s to come.
Tonight sees a surprise release trailer for the beta of Destiny 2. The trailer details what you will expect to see, once the open beta drops on Xbox in two weeks time. You will get to play the first mission of the game – as seen at Bungie’s E3 conference this year, a strike mission and of course, the infamous crucible mode with not one, but two different modes available during the beta. The first of which Guardians should already be familiar with is Control, where capturing points on the map will increase your teams score, whilst defending those points from the opposing team. The second is a new mode called Countdown, where Guardians most take it in turns as teams to attack and defend from the opposition. Finally, you’ll be able to try out the new subclasses that will be available once the full game releases.
For those who play the beta will unlock a unique emblem that will carry over to Destiny 2 – much like they did with the original Destiny beta. However, any progression made during the beta will not transfer over to the full game.
Finally, for those intrigued in the new social space, The Farm, Bungie are offering beta players just one hour to explore it for themselves.
The Desiny 2 beta will be available for early access players (those who have pre-ordered a copy of Destiny 2 already) 19th July, with a start date of 21st July for everybody else. The beta will end 23rd July. Also on the 23rd July at 6pm, is the time when you can check out the new social space.
Once the beta finishes, it’s time to wait for the all-important release date of 6th September, but for now, why not check out the beta trailer below.
Have you pre-ordered Destiny 2 or have you been wounded from the previous iteration? We would be happy to hear your thoughts and opinions in the comments below.
