How To Tell What Games Are Enhanced For Xbox One X

Now that we have seen and heard what 1080p games can become on Xbox One X, how do we know what enhancements they have been given by developers.  Luckily Microsoft is making it clear on the packaging what you can expect to see when you purchase a game and play it on Xbox One X.

There will be three new indicators on packing now to explain to the buyer what enhancements a game has.  First is for 4K resolution.  This doesn’t only apply to native 4K (2160p).  This includes native 2160p, a “checkerboarded” 2160p presentation or a dynamic, scaling resolution with a performance target of 2160p.  A second will represent high dynamic range (HDR) capability for color.  Lastly will be a  “Xbox One X Enhanced” message declares some enhanced visual fidelity.

This enhancements can come from developers on launch day or be supplied later on via patch.  Hopefully a lot of developers will utilize the power unlocked in Xbox One X.
