Collective Sigh As Rockstar Extends Wait For Red Dead Redemption 2

Red dead Redemption Delayed

Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most hotly anticipated titles for the Xbox One to be released in 2017. Make that was one of the most anticipated. Rockstar is making us eager console gunslingers wait a little longer than we had anticipated – Spring 2018 in fact.

“Some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans”
The delay, according to the developer is because “some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans. We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready. We are really excited to bring you more details about the game this summer”

Clearly aware that the baying mob would need something to feed their appetite, Rockstar did at least accompany the announcement with a few new teaser shots, which you can see below.

Could this be Rockstar rebelling in an age of rushed releases followed by endless DLC. Considering the neverending success of GTA V this is one developer that can be confident in its own decision making.
