Today, Ubisoft have officially announced yet another release date for South Park: The Fractured But Whole, after being pushed back on more than one occasion.
To coincide with their latest announcement, they’ve released a trailer for the game, showing some tidbits of game footage, along with what this story is all about – A farting vigilante; true South Park style.
Ubisoft’s press release describes the synopsis of the game:
With crime on the rise in South Park, the streets have never been more dangerous. As the sun sets on the quiet Colorado town, havoc and chaos unleash a reign of terror and the seedy underbelly of the city comes alive. The town needs new heroes to rise! Eric Cartman seizes the opportunity to save the town and create the best superhero franchise ever, his own Coon & Friends with himself as the leader, The Coon.
Every superhero has an origin, and Coon & Friends are no different. Continuing in their role as the New Kid, players will discover their backstory, assemble their unique costumes, and harness their fart-based powers from numerous hero classes to create their own original hero. An all-new combat system offers unique opportunities to master space and time while on the battlefield, and a revamped looting and crafting system gives players the freedom to craft their own equipment to aid them in battle.
If you, like me, had already pre-ordered this title a year ago, you may be aware that you got an Xbox One version of The Stick of Truth completely free, but it seems like now they’re advertising the fact as shown in their new trailer. However, The Stick of Truth will be available to you as of now if you choose to pre-order. You will also get another in-game freebie for use in The Fractured But Whole, in the form of the weed-smoking, chilled-out towel, Towelie, whose purpose it is to give you hints and funny observations at certain points within the game. Sorry guys, he’s not a playable character as far as we can tell!
You can check out the trailer for The Fracture But Whole below.
The new release date is set for 17th October, this year and with the amount of content you get free for pre-ordering, what are you waiting for? Don’t forget to bring a towel!
Are you hyped more for this title now they’ve set another release date, or will you be anticipating another set-back for release? We would be happy to hear your thoughts and opinions in the comments below.
