Call of Duty: WWII Confirmed – Full Reveal Next Week

After several weeks of speculation and potential leaks, Activision has today confirmed that Call of Duty will be returning to World War II for its next installment.

With the title as expected from previous rumours, Call of Duty: WWII sees the franchise return to its original roots. In a move no doubt influenced by the success of Battlefield 1, this is the first entry in the franchise to leave modern and future settings for since the release of World at War in 2008.

In development by Sledgehammer Games, the full reveal has been penciled in for April 26th 6pm BST. Sledgehammer have previously worked on Advanced Warfare and Modern Warfare 3.

The move is not surprising by Activision. Many Call of Duty long time fans have given up hope on the franchise. The return to the second world war may be Activisions’ saviour. With no Battlefield this winter, that leaves the highly impressive Star Wars: Battlefront II as the main competitor.

We’ll bring you the latest here at Xbox One UK from the full reveal next week.
