Flatout 4 Crashes Its Way onto Xbox One in March

Here’s a bit of a blast from my childhood: arcade racing series and unofficial driver mutilation simulator Flatout is getting resurrected for Xbox One, and it’s coming in March.

Titled Flatout 4: Total Insanity and developed by the Paris based studio Kylotonn Racing Games, who are responsible for WRC 5 and 6, this release will combine “classic fan-favourite features and modes with all new gameplay modes”. Whether it’ll be an improvement over the critically panned PC release Flatout 3 remains to be seen.

The trailer, which you can watch below, certainly seems to suggest a return to the success of old. Lots of fast cars tearing their way through highly destructible environments, with the occasional helpless driver being flung through some rings of fire for good measure. Looks like jolly good fun.
