Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown announced for Xbox One with Showcase Trailer
1997. Spice Girls were dominating the music charts, Leo and Kate were on the big screen in Titanic and ACE COMBAT 2, (The first game was called Air Combat) was released on the Playstation. If you are a long time fan of the ACE COMBAT Series of Flight Sim’s you will be pleased to hear that BANDAI NAMCO has announced in the 20th year of the franchise that they are bringing their seventh iteration, Skies Unknown to the Xbox One. At the same time, they also released a New Years showcase trailer to help bring both the storyline and gameplay graphics to life.
One of the first things that you notice is the high quality of the graphics both in cut-scenes and apparent game-play. ACE COMBAT 7: Skies Unknown is yet another title that is utilising the Unreal 4 engine to deliver eye-popping photorealistic visuals of both fully rendered clouds as well as urban skylines.
What strikes us most from watching the trailer is just how good those graphics appear, from the scenes showing rain trailing down the cockpit screen to the sand trails from skimming the desert, BANDAI NAMCO certainly appears to have pushed what is visually possible on a console.
Eric Hartness, Vice President of Marketing at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc has remarked on the game,
“With over 20 years of franchise history; ACE COMBAT 7: Skies Unknown continues to deliver authentic yet accessible flight combat action to gamers around the world. This latest version of the game delivers amazing visuals and intense gameplay, all wrapped in a unique and compelling storyline.
