CONFIRMED: Watch Dogs Free Trial Coming Soon

That Watch Dogs 2 got made at all still raises an eyebrow. That it’s such a great game – overcoming all its predecessor’s many flaws – is even more surprising. But we can’t help wonder if the incredible hype and subsequent disappointment of the first game has hurt sales of the sequel. After all, once bitten, twice shy.

What better way, then, to tempt doubters back to the franchise than by offering a free trial?

Ubisoft agrees, it seems. According to the official Ubisoft bloga free three-hour trial of the full game will be available for download starting 24th January 2017.

Other than the three-hour limit, there’s no restriction on what you can experience during the trial. Players will be able to spend those three hours exploring every aspect of the game:

“You’ll get full access to all the game’s features, including its seamless co-op and multiplayer*, so what will you do with your three hours? You can dive into missions, get to know Marcus Holloway and DedSec, explore the Bay Area freely, infiltrate restricted areas with hacked equipment, wreak havoc with a friend in co-op, and get up to whatever open-world shenanigans your heart desires.”

~ Giancarlo Varanini, Senior Communications Manager, Ubisoft

We loved Watch Dogs 2 – and we think offering a free trial is a brilliant, no-risk move that might encourage those still on the fence to take the plunge.

You’ll be able to grab the Watch Dogs 2 Free Trial from the Store page, from where you can also purchase the full game for £54.99.
