This Week At Bungie | 12 January 2017

That’s it, folks – Christmas is well and truly over. How can we tell? Is it the lack of mince pies, decorations and fat old men trying to break into our homes? Well, yes, actually. That, and the return of This Week at Bungie – the weekly roundup of all things Destiny.

We may have packed our Sparrows away until the next season of SRL, but the Live Team is promising another update is on its way, and although there’s no further information our minds are filled with visions of last Valentine’s Crimson Days (has it been nearly a year? I’m still using the same Ghost that dropped from a Crimson Doubles match). We await more news like excited Thrall.

Before then, though, it’s a return to normal service, as the great doors to the Iron Banner open once more, offering those forged in light the chance to do battle. Between 17 and 24 January, Guardians will drop all pretense of playing the objective, and simply try to mow one another down in Clash.

As ever, there’s loot to be won – if the random number gods are on your side.

“We love you for your tireless appetite to blow stuff up. Hold onto that with your pistol-gripping fists. As soon as we’re ready to make new promises (and not a second after) those details will flow downstream.”
To add a little extra spice, Bungie Bounties return but, this time, your targets aren’t members of Bungie but prominent Community people. Hunt one down in Clash and you’ll earn a special emblem of your very own.

Alongside the regular weekly reset, there will be a small hotfix ( which will fix some issues with patrol missions in the Plaguelands and Xur’s inventory, and apply weapon stability fixes for a couple of exotic machine guns.

And that’s all she wrote, folks. If you want the full skinny – and check out an incredible Movie of the Week – head on over to for the full update.

See you in the Crucible, Guardians!

Amazingly, prone to intermittent fits of unexplained optimism. Lived alone and liked it so much he bought the company. Wouldn't mind being a little less clever and a little more handsome. Arranges words into painstakingly grammatically correct order for a living. Likes: Sunshine, TV, couch, cats, games. Dislikes: Rain, people, arranging words into painstakingly grammatically correct order. #ILHIMH
