RiME Now Headed To Xbox One
First announced back in 2013, it was RiME‘s 2014 Gamescom trailer that really stole our hearts – telling the tale of a young boy who must use his wits and ingenuity to survive and ultimately escape from a mysterious island and a terrible curse. Immediately winning our “Cutest Warthog Ever In A Trailer” award (yes, that’s a real thing, move over Pumbaa) we were somewhat crestfallen at Tequila Works’ decision to publish the title as a PS4 exclusive.
After that, things went quiet on the RiME front, but now it’s been officially confirmed that the former PS4-exclusive title will be released in May 2017 on all major formats, including Xbox One.
If you’re not familiar with Tequila Works, you might want to look up Deadlight: Director’s Cut for a taste of their earlier work. RiME, though, looks like an altogether more ambitious title.
“RiME is a single-player puzzle adventure about discovery, experienced through the eyes of a young boy who awakens on a mysterious island after shipwrecking off its coast. Players must navigate the island’s secrets by making use of light, sound, perspective and even time.
“Inspired by the rugged, sunbaked terrain of the Mediterranean coast, Rime paints its breathtaking world with a fusion of vibrant colors and moving musical undertones to set the stage for the deeply personal journey that awaits within.”
Check out the Gamescom trailer – and stay tuned for more RiME information as we get it.
Aesthetically we see hints of Zelda and The Flame in the Flood in Tequila Works’ new adventure. And we can’t wait to see more.
