December’s Best Backwards Compatible Games

Backwards Compatible

Welcome back to Xbox One UK’s regular reflection, where we take a look at the list of Xbox 360 titles that became backwards compatible in the last month and try to point out a couple of highlights.

December didn’t offer much in the way of quantity, as the Backwards Compatibility team took some well earned time off over the Christmas period. Luckily, the quality of those games picked up the slack. First, the honourable mentions:

Injustice: Gods Among Us

The Batman vs Superman film might have been a little disappointing, but watching those two cornerstones of the DC Universe duke it out on a fighting game like Injustice:Gods Among Us is always entertaining. With a diverse roster and action seemingly ripped straight from the comic books, Injustice is a must have for any superhero fanatic.

It’s rare that a puzzle game offers genuine brain-straining gameplay AND an intriguing narrative surrounding one man’s struggle with committed relationships and “settling down”. Catherine is a game that challenges you to think logically to solve puzzles, whilst taking an occasional moment of introspection to determine your own moral compass. A truly unique experience.

Game of the Month – Bully: Scholarship Edition

Personal note: Bully ranks in my top 3 favourite games of all time, joined by Halo 3 and Burnout 3: Takedown. The game was released during my time at high school, but I would spend lessons looking forward to going back home and attending the virtual Bullworth Academy. I’m sure most kids wished their school was more like Bullworth, but let’s be honest: we wouldn’t be protagonist Jimmy Hopkins. We’d be the fat kid Jimmy throws into a locker.

And there you have it. What were your highlights for the last month of 2016? Let us know in the comments below!
