Elite Dangerous To Add Carrie Fisher Memorial In Next Update
Last year seemed like it was the most grim of all years, with so many disasters, shocking outcomes and a ton of celebrity deaths. One in particular is that of Carrie Fisher, who played Princess Leia in the Star Wars movies, died on 27th December. Soon, Star Wars fans and in particular, those from the gaming community started paying tribute to the actress.
A producer from Elite: Dangerous has recently posted on the official forums; responding to the communities requests for a tribute to be made to the late actress:
Sad news indeed – a ‘Fisher’s Rest’ outpost will be added to the game in the 2.3 release.
This is not the first time they’ve included a memorial of sorts. In 2015, they created a Vulcun planet in honour of the late Leonard Nimoy, and gave him a station too.
So when update 2.3 drops, expect a new outpost; A Fisher’s Rest to visit, when you load up Elite: Dangerous. Go pay some respects. The Force would’ve wanted you to.
Were you affected by any of the deaths covered in this article? Will you be visiting Carrie Fisher’s station? We’d be happy to hear your thoughts and opinions in the comments below.
