GTA 5 Online Gets Its First 2017 Update

We are only a couple of days into 2017 and already Rockstar have released their first update of the year for GTA 5 Online. The talk had been that this year would be the year that Rockstar would start to wind up the updates for its phenomenal classic, the only problem is that no one seems to have told them that.

The latest update, released yesterday, is called Vehicle Vendetta and the first thing we have to tell you about is the highly customisable Pegassi FCR 1000. This bike “treads the fine line between old-school, no-frills engineering and a tight-trousered hipster’s delight. An instant classic, this bike will be the envy of your grandpa, even if he did disown you.” and it is available to buy right now.

There is also a new game mode available. This mode sees you playing in your vehicle against another crew who are also in their cars. You battle it out for power-ups that can sway the battle in your favour. The power-ups include:

  • Beast: Automatically transforms you into a Rhino Tank.
  • Detonator: Removes obstacles and objects from the arena.
  • Bomb: Place up to three bombs around the map to destroy trailing enemies.
  • Rockets: Fire rockets at oncoming drivers to incapacitate them.
  • Repair: Returns vehicle back to max health.
  • Ghost: Become translucent, allowing you to drive through enemy vehicles to steal their power-ups.
  • Jammed: Forces the accelerator on for the enemy team’s vehicles.
  • Flipped: Reverses the enemy team’s steering, acceleration and braking controls.
  • Zoned: Slows down time for all players.
  • Deadline: Automatically switches you onto the Nagasaki Shotaro complete with devastating light trail.
  • Random: Chance to collect any power-up except Detonator.

But, Ladies and Gentlemen, that is not all. Up until January 17th you can get double GTA$ and RP for games plauyed in Vehicle Vendetta and all 27 Rockstar Stunt races. Whats that we hear? You want triple XP? Don’t you worry, Rockstar have got you covered. The premium race until January 16th will be Racing Alley and this will give you all the rewards you need.

There will also be some big discounts over this period as well. These discounts will include:

  • 25% more GTA$ on Vehicle Exports.
  • 25% off Special Vehicle Warehouse Renovations & Special Cargo Warehouses.
  • 50% off Grenade Launcher.
  • 25% off Engine Performance Upgrades.
