Remember back in 2015 when Capcom announced that there will be a current gen remake of Resident Evil 2? Well, we are about to hit 2017 and Resident Evil 7 is set to release next month and we know nothing new about the classic remake. Capcom and RE2: Remake’s producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi may have tipped his hand a bit on when we will see something of the upcoming remake.
In an interview with VideoGamer, Hirabayashi spoke about the experiences he learned from the previous games and how Capcom is focused on RE7 while his team is working on the remake of RE2. There is a lot of speculation now that we will see footage and gameplay of Resident Evil 2: Remake along side the launch of Resident Evil 7 on 27 January, 2017.
Resident Evil 2: Remake is a full overhaul of the original game and not just a reskin. It’s also not uncommon for a company to stay quiet and use a new title to hype another game, especially when they belong to the same franchise. We will wait and see what Capcom has in stores for those looking to guide Leon Kennedy through Raccoon City on what has to be the worst possible “first day at work” ever.
