Game of the Year 2016 | Every vote counts!

It’s that time of the year when right-thinking gamers the world over eschew the BBC Sports Personality of the year awards for something far more interesting – the Game of the Year announcements.

Here at Xbox One UK we’re no different – and we’re tearing ourselves away from the mince pies for just long enough to ask you to get involved.

Over 400 games have been released between 1 December 2015 and 16 December 2016 that are eligible for this year’s vote – and we want your help in narrowing it down.

We want everyone to vote for their favourite game of the year. The winner of that vote will be set alongside four other games that have in some way distinguished themselves in 2016 – be it review scores, unsung heroes, or simply games we can’t stop playing.

Once we have our short list of five, we’ll re-open voting and everyone can have their say about which of the five is their favourite. Quite simply, the game with the most votes will be the Xbox One UK Game of the Year 2016 – an accolade quite beyond compare.

Yes, we know, you’re all busy people. So, to say thank you, everyone who votes will be included in a prize draw to win an Xbox Live Gift Card (digital code) for £50. (Only if you want to be. We respect your right to not be a winner if you choose!)

To vote for your favourite game, simply complete the voting form below.

If you can’t see the voting form, simply open the form in a new window.

Voting’s only open for a short time – so make sure you get in quick!

Once we have our shortlist we’ll let you know, and you can help us choose our Game of the Year!

Amazingly, prone to intermittent fits of unexplained optimism. Lived alone and liked it so much he bought the company. Wouldn't mind being a little less clever and a little more handsome. Arranges words into painstakingly grammatically correct order for a living. Likes: Sunshine, TV, couch, cats, games. Dislikes: Rain, people, arranging words into painstakingly grammatically correct order. #ILHIMH
