The Crew – What You Need To Know Ahead Of ‘Calling All Units’

The Crew is probably one of the most harshly judged racing games of this particular generation. Sure it doesn’t really stack up to the likes of Forza Horizon, Forza Motorsport and to some extents the Need for Speed series, however that doesn’t make it a bad game.

Currently sitting at a score of 64 on Metacritic would more than likely seem exceedingly harsh to many that have played the title. It may not have the polish and tight gameplay mechanics of it’s competition but it still has a solid, although somewhat clichéd, story line and it’s immense fun to play with friends in co-op mode!

As such it’s good to see the development team (Ivory Tower & Ubisoft Reflections) continuing to support the title. That supports is going to be more evident than ever with today’s launch of the Calling All Units expansion.

The Calling All Units expansion will introduce new gameplay elements including and increased level cap, new missions, chase sequences, bounties and new vehicles & items to name but a few.

The developers release some notes today giving players an idea of how best to prepare for the impending release:

As you know, The Crew Calling All Units will be launching tomorrow, and to make sure you’re ready to enjoy it in the right conditions, here are some information regarding its launch.

Downloading The Crew Calling All Units content:

All players will be able to launch the download of the latest content associated to The Crew Calling All Units on the 29th of November, at 10am CET (Paris Time).

For any player with an up to date game, The Crew Calling All Units content will represent 2GB of data.

Keep in mind that, while a lot of new content is coming for free to all players, in order to be able to access the new police vehicles, story missions as well as police chases, The Crew Calling All Units expansion will be required.

Opening of the servers & access to the game:

In order to deploy our latest expansion, an extended maintenance will be happening on the 29th of November.

As usual, we will start our maintenance at 9:30am CET (Paris Time) and this one should end around 2pm CET (Paris time), which means that this maintenance will last around 5 hours.

Free Nissan GT-R

As you know, all players who purchased The Crew Wild Run prior to the launch of The Crew Calling All Units will receive for free the Nissan GT-R.

Important note: if you are eligible for this free car, it will be automatically sent to you in-game few hours after the launch of The Crew Calling All Units.

In order to see it, eligible players will only have to logout and log back in.

2 Years anniversary – Lamborghini Huracan & exclusive sticker

To celebrate our 2 years anniversary, all players who played The Crew in December 2014 and January 2015 will received for free the new Lamborghini Huracan as well as an exclusive sticker.

Important note: if you are eligible for this free car, it will be automatically sent to you in-game few hours after the launch of The Crew Calling All Units.

In order to see it, eligible players will only have to logout and log back in.

Required spec:

The minimum required specs will not change with The Crew Calling All Units.

With new missions to partake in, an increased level cap to accelerate towards, new parts to acquire and free vehicles for long standing players there really hasn’t ever been a better time to get involved with the seriously under rated The Crew.
