Gears 4’s latest patch should solve early-match lag, breaks LAN cross play

Gears of War 4

According to a forum post by The Coalition, a small Xbox One title update will iron out the ‘hitching’ issues some players have experienced in the early part of Gears of War 4  multi-player matches. Hitching is a short period of extreme lag, and this small (218MB) update should solve the problem for Xbox One users.

There’s no equivalent patch for Windows 10 players, though, as the PC game didn’t have the same issue. However, because the two versions are now mismatched, offline LAN play between Xbox One and PC will no longer work, until the next big Gears of War 4 Title Update is applied to both platforms, bringing them into line.
