Destiny To Receive Another Hotfix Later Today

Bungie have confirmed that later today Destiny, and it’s behemoth expansion Rise of Iron, will receive another update.

While there is no solid confirmation as of yet on what Hotfix will contain we can expect further details to be provided later on today.

As with all their patches and updates Bungie have listed a set of advisory instructions for players on their website in an effort to make the update run as smoothly as possible.

Update Status – Destiny Hotfix

Destiny will be receiving Hotfix on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms on Thursday 9/29/2016:

◦On Thursday 9/29/2016 at approximately 10 AM PDT (5:00 PM UTC), Destiny Hotfix will become available to download on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.

◦Please stay tuned to @BungieHelp on Thursday 9/29/2016 for announcements on Destiny Hotfix availability.

◦After Hotfix becomes available for download, the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One consoles may remove players from Destiny to download and install the updates either immediately or after players return to orbit at the end of their current activity. Players may receive the CAT error code when this happens.

◦All players on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms will need to fully download and install Hotfix to log back in to Destiny.

When downloading and updating Destiny, please keep in mind the following:

◦Hard Drive Requirements: Players should ensure they have the proper amount of console storage space available to complete the full installation process. For more information, please see the Console Storage Space guide.

◦Update Name: Some consoles may display a different name for the update than the one listed above.

◦Interrupting Downloads: Some consoles will attempt to verify all previously downloaded content before downloading a Destiny updates. If any issues are found, or the verification process is interrupted, all previous content will be deleted and downloaded once more. For more information, please see our Updating Destiny Guide.

◦Destiny Companion: The Vendor pages in the Destiny Companion on and the Mobile App may be temporarily unavailable when Destiny is undergoing maintenance and updating.

◦Error Code Sheep: Players may encounter the SHEEP error code when they attempt to join a Fireteam in which any member has not updated to the latest version of Destiny. To resolve this issue, please have all players close Destiny and install the latest update.

We’ll endeavor to provide full patch note details if and when they become available.

Whether you’re a hardcore day one veteran, a returning player or someone new to the title I’m sure you’ll agree it’s good to see Bungie continuing to support Destiny and striving to make it an enjoyable experience for all!
