Gwent Closed Beta Set For Xbox One

For anyone that’s played The Game of the Year winner, The Witcher 3, will undoubtedly be familiar with the term ‘Gwent’. For those of you who aren’t familiar, it is The Witcher’s answer to Final Fantasy’s Triple Triad from many eons ago.

The developers CD Projekt RED announced earlier this year, that they were working on a standalone version of this surprisingly popular card game, but today they have announced a beta start date for Xbox One and PC.

The objective of Gwent is to ensure that the total strength of your cards on the board is greater than your opponents cards. Sound simple, no? That’s because it leads you into a false sense of security, and before you know it, you’ve wasted the best part of the day fine-tuning your deck to find the right synergy for your cards. Be warned, this can get very addictive!

The beta drops on Xbox One and PC on 25th October and will last indefinitely. If you would like an invite to the closed beta, now is your final time to do so. You will need to register for your chance at receiving a beta code, however this does not guarantee access. CD Projekt RED will be distributing codes via their Facebook and Twitter pages for the stress test tomorrow, with the test going live 4pm on Friday and ending at 8pm.

Will you be participating in the stress test on PC or will you be waiting for the beta on Xbox One? Or rather that you are indeed addicted, and must do both? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
