Horde 3.0 Revealed for Gears of War 4

Gears of War 4 looks to take the long-running series into a new direction, and the popular Horde Mode is no different. A new trailer has been released today showing some of these changes.

It appears that Horde 3.0 is taking some inspiration from the Overrun Mode from the under-appreciated Gears of War: Judgment. Each player will have to choose a class, with different weapons and abilities. You’ve got the Sniper, who snipes (obviously), the Engineer who can build turrets and defences, the run-of-the-mill Soldier, the Scout who can reveal enemy locations for the team, and the Heavy who looks to bring the pain.

We also get a look at some of the new enemies we’ll be tangling with. We get a look at some new Swarm types, most of which look kinda disgusting and not to be trifled with, alongside what look like robotic foot soldiers and man-made vehicles like helicopters, which could indicate some interesting twists in the single-player campaign.

Top it all off with a new track from Run The Jewels, and you’ve got yourself a damn fine trailer that you can check out below! What do you make of Horde 3.0? Excited to play the “King of Co-Op Modes” all over again when Gears of War 4 drops on October 11th? Sound off in the comments!
