What Are We Up To Outside The Wonderful World Of Xbox One UK

Here at Xbox One UK we are committed to finding the most relevant news and information we can. We do this because we have a passion for gaming and an even bigger passion for the Xbox. Although a few of us do have other lesser consoles (not naming names but you know who you are)

We are all volunteers doing this in our spare time, and yes before you ask we don’t get paid!! This makes it even more impressive that we are able to post as much content as we do; we all have families and general life to contend with before we get a chance to source news. We are always busy, locating stories, creating videos and managing our social networking pages. But when we aren’t doing things to put up on the old internet, what exactly do we like to do in our spare time? Unsurprisingly we generally like to play games when we can.

Each month one of our editors will post a little bit about what they have been doing recently. More than likely it will be gaming related, but who knows what they will write about, it’s up to them. We hope you will enjoy this new monthly article and maybe, just maybe you will get to know us all a little better.

This week it’s the turn of Xbox One UK’s very own: Chris ‘whyayemincepie’ Nash

Well, first of all let me say thank you to anyone and everyone reading this. The fact you have chosen to find out who I am makes you a legend amongst men and women, or you’re a bit bored and want to pass a few minutes – I’ll let you decide on which one 🙂

I am found in glorious Ipswich, a part of the beautiful East Anglia. Been here for a few years now but have lived in various other locations including Nottingham, Yorkshire and Germany. I’m all grown up now, got married and have three kids; after the third child I had to make the most important decision of my life. My wife told me it was either her or a doctor that stopped me from having anymore, opted for the doctor as the thought of two brick smashing together wasn’t a pleasant image for me – chances are it isn’t a pleasant image for you either now.

So moving swiftly on from the above, how about we talk about some gaming? The first console I had was my trusty SEGA Master System, that was an absolute beast of a machine at the time. From there I progressed to the Mega Drive and even treated myself to the Mega CD attachment, this made me the coolest kid in school and I wish I still had it now – have you seen how much the retro consoles go for? Then we entered the Xbox phase of my gaming background where I had the original, progressed to a 360 and now have the Xbox One. It has been an amazing journey watching games evolve into what they are now and I have loved every single cartridge and disc along the way, maybe not every single one but the majority have hit the mark.

So that’s my family covered and my gaming history covered – where do we venture to next (and did anyone make it this far and still want to read on?). Ah, I know – how about some of my specialist skills? I know how to hang a picture on a wall using either nails or hooks, you might laugh at this but it isn’t as easy as it looks you know!! I am the absolute best at taking my socks off just using my feet, this is a skill everyone should have. I know loads of useless facts and very few useful ones, always handy when it comes to the pub quiz. Last but by no means least, I can keep up with my three children when it comes to dancing. I can whip and I can Nay Nay, I know the Gangnam Style moves of by heart and have The Robot down to a fine art.

And there you have it, the in’s and out’s of me. I can’t see me writing an autobiography anytime soon as it would only be half a dozen pages long, more of a short story if we’re honest. But one thing is for sure, if you made it this far then two things are about to happen. First, I will give you a digital high five and a digital hug. Second, here’s a recipe to make the best tasting cookies you have ever had:

  • Preheat the hot cooking thing to 180c or gas mark 4
  • Mix butter and sugar until light, fluffy and awesome
  • Beat some eggs into the above mixture and also some vanilla extract
  • Grab another bowl and sieve some cocoa, baking powder and flour
  • Add the two bowl contents together and mix it like a pro DJ
  • Go to town and use as many chocolate chips as you like, I find using the whole bag gives best results
  • Put the mixture on a baking tray, best use one of those baking sheets otherwise they weld themselves to the tray – put them in any shape you like
  • Bake for 12 minutes
  • You should let them cool and then eat but I prefer to try and eat one straight away, swear a few times about how hot it is then think to myself I should have let it cool down a bit first

Quick disclaimer – I take no responsibility for any cookie related injuries.

Until we speak again everyone, it has been a real pleasure waffling on here and I hope you enjoyed finding out who I am. Feel free to add me on Xbox Live, search for whyayemincepie, give me an add and we’ll get some gaming in for sure – thanks again.
