Xbox Play Anywhere Starts Sep 13th

Microsoft announced Xbox Play Anywhere during E3 this year, the program is a great way to get your monies worth, essentially you buy the game on the Xbox/Microsoft marketplace and the title can be used for both your Xbox console and Win 10 PC.

The official start date of Xbox Play Anywhere with Microsoft will begin on September 13, 2016, and the first game players will be able to buy once and enjoy on both their Xbox One and Windows 10 PC is ReCore.

There are a few caveats here. First, this only works with digital versions of the game. You won’t be able to buy the disc version of ReCore, play it on your Xbox One and see it available on your PC for free. Second, Xbox Play Anywhere requires the Windows 10 Anniversary Update to be installed on your PC in order to work.

Here’s the current list of games set to be a part of Xbox Play Anywhere.

  • Ark: Survival Evolved
  • Crackdown 3
  • Cuphead
  • Forza Horizon 3
  • Gears of War 4
  • Halo Wars 2
  • Killer Instinct Season 3
  • ReCore
  • Scalebound
  • Sea of Thieves
  • State of Decay 2
  • We Happy Few
