Titanfall’s Smart Pistol is one of the most divisive weapons we’ve ever come across in a game. Those who love it won’t hear a bad word against the multi-shot auto-aim hand-cannon; those not so keen see it as a OP baby’s toy created for those who struggle to make kills in FPS games.
Well, prepare for those arguments to continue, as it’s been confirmed by the game’s director, Steve Fukuda, that the Smart Pistol will return.
In an interview with Shack News, Fukuda said:
We are going to be bringing back the Smart Pistol, but different. We know that’s what received a lot of negative feedback, and we’ve been working on that to make sure it is a more balanced experience for all players.
We’re intrigued to see what changes Fukuda’s team has made to the gun, not because we think it’s particularly over-powered, but because it’s nice to have a full balanced loadout, without relying on the gun to get us out of a tight spot.
What do you think; do you welcome the Smart Pistol’s return or are the devs just trolling us all?
Titanfall 2 is released October this year.
