The file size for Sea of Thieves, the latest game from much-loved development studio Rare, has been revealed over on the Xbox Store – a good six months before the game drops.
Sea of Thieves is one of those games where the more we hear about it, the more excited we are to see what the studio behind Banjo-Kazooie, Perfect Dark and Donkey Kong Country has created. When it was first revealed at last year’s E3, information was thin on the ground. It was pitched a cartoonish pirate shared-world game with an incredibly distinct art style.
Since then, we’ve learned that it’s set in an open-world, and features co-op and PVP gameplay that’s integral to progressing through the game, as you assist or assault other player-pirate crews and a host of other threats you’ll discover at sea.
Aaron Greenberg, Xbox’s chief marketing man, also confirmed the release date a few days after the first gameplay footage went on show at E3 2016. Mark down February 2017 in your diaries.
Although the option to pre-order has yet to appear, we now know how big the download will be for the game. Those with little space on their hard drives, rejoice. Sea of Thieves is a mercifully small 9.82GB.
That’s just the booty we be after.
